The Evolution of an Artist

My Path from Engineering to Expressive Painting

This path has been winding, shaped by both joy and heartbreak, and has deeply influenced the art I create today. Growing up in Pakistan, my love for drawing and painting started early. I was always captivated by colors and forms, often losing myself in the world of art. However, as I got older, practical considerations led me to pursue a degree in engineering. After moving to California and starting a family, my priorities shifted. Art took a backseat as I focused on raising my children. My days were filled with the joys and challenges of motherhood, and my creative pursuits were put on hold.

In 2013, my life changed forever when I lost my newborn daughter. The grief and pain were overwhelming, but it also made me reflect deeply on what I wanted from life. I realized that I needed to honor my passions and live fully, both for myself and in memory of my daughter.
In 2014, I returned to painting with a renewed sense of purpose. My engineering background influenced my approach to art, encouraging me to experiment with different mediums and techniques. I found solace and healing in the process of creating, and my unique impressionistic style began to take shape. I start my paintings with bold, organic shapes and washes of color, building layers of thick and thin paint to capture the emotional essence of nature. My work is spontaneous and vibrant, inviting viewers into a space of wonder, belonging, and emotional connection. For me, painting is more than just depicting nature's beauty. It's a way to process emotions, unlock creativity, and connect with a deeper purpose. Each piece I create represents a step in my personal journey, reflecting my evolving perspective and voice.

As a mother of four, finding time for art can be challenging. I paint whenever I can, often in the small corner of my home studio. My children inspire me daily, and their presence brings color and joy into my life and work. After years of putting my passion on hold, I now feel I've found my true calling. My art has been exhibited widely in Northern California, and I look forward to future shows. Each painting is a celebration of life, filled with expressive color and emotional depth.

I invite you to follow my artistic journey and join my collector's list. I love sharing the process behind my work and hearing how it resonates with others. Let's explore the beauty and emotion of art together.

Thank you for being a part of my story.
