ABOUT NIDA

I am an artist based in Sacramento, creating impressionist landscapes and floral paintings that bring warmth, serenity, and connection into everyday spaces. In addition to being an artist, I’m also a mother of four daughters, painting from my home studio where inspiration is never far away.

My journey as an artist began as a deeply personal one—painting became my refuge after the loss of my fourth child. What started as a way to process grief turned into a lifelong passion, where every brushstroke reflects both healing and joy.

My work is inspired by the beauty of nature, shifting light, and the quiet moments that bring a sense of belonging. I paint with layered brushstrokes, rich textures, and an intuitive approach, allowing the colors and movement to tell their own stories. My paintings often reflect the golden hues of fields, soft evening light, and the fleeting beauty of flowers—each piece capturing a moment of stillness in an ever-changing world.

I have exhibited at The Atrium in Old Sacramento and have been published in In Her Studio, where I shared insights into my creative process and workspace.

Artist Statement

My work is deeply tied to emotion, memory, and the natural world. I approach the canvas much like I approach life—layer by layer, embracing imperfections, letting go of control, and allowing beauty to emerge from the process.

With a background in Pre-Engineering that led to a degree in Management Information Systems, while minoring in Painting and Digital Media, my artistic process is influenced by both structure and spontaneity. The designer in me pushes my work into ever-evolving territories—where color meets composition, and nature blends with ideology. I love exploring the balance between organic movement and intentional design, letting intuition guide me while refining the final composition.

Each painting begins with fluid, expressive strokes—responding to emotions, shifting the composition, covering and uncovering until something meaningful takes shape. There is a rhythm to it, much like nature itself—soft moments of stillness, bold bursts of movement, and delicate details that hold everything together.

For me, art is more than just creating something beautiful—it’s about connection. It’s about finding peace in the chaos, holding onto fleeting moments, and allowing emotion to live on through color and texture.
